It reliably prevents water from the downstream installation from flowing back into the drinking-water line \u2013 thus safeguarding the quality of the drinking water.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #0069b3\">Why is a system separator necessary?<\/h3>\n<p>As soon as an installation is connected to the public drinking-water network, a suitable protection device for safeguarding the drinking water is required (DIN EN 1717). It ensures that under no circumstances \u2013 not even in the event of pressure fluctuations or negative pressure in the network \u2013 contaminated water can flow back.
