Bien que le fer soit essentiel pour le corps humain, une concentration trop \u00e9lev\u00e9e dans l&rsquo;eau potable peut avoir des effets ind\u00e9sirables. Des niveaux \u00e9lev\u00e9s de fer provoquent une coloration brun\u00e2tre de l&rsquo;eau, un go\u00fbt m\u00e9tallique et peuvent entra\u00eener des d\u00e9p\u00f4ts dans les canalisations et les appareils m\u00e9nagers.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>En Allemagne, la valeur limite pour l&rsquo;eau potable est de 0,2 mg\/l<\/strong> (ordonnance sur l&rsquo;eau potable). Cependant, dans de nombreux puits et sources d&rsquo;eau souterraine, des valeurs bien plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es sont mesur\u00e9es, c&rsquo;est pourquoi un contr\u00f4le r\u00e9gulier est indispensable. La surveillance de la teneur en fer est particuli\u00e8rement importante pour le traitement de l&rsquo;eau, les piscines et les processus industriels.  <\/p>\n<p>Le fer peut \u00eatre introduit dans l&rsquo;eau par diff\u00e9rentes sources : lixiviation naturelle \u00e0 partir de couches rocheuses contenant du fer, corrosion des conduites en fer, rejets industriels ou additifs contenant du fer utilis\u00e9s dans le traitement de l&rsquo;eau. L&rsquo;oxydation du fer ferreux dissous en fer ferrique entra\u00eene une coloration brun rouille et une turbidit\u00e9 caract\u00e9ristiques de l&rsquo;eau.<\/p>\n<h3>Comment fonctionne le kit de test ?<\/h3>\n<p>Le kit d&rsquo;essai CALDUR\u00ae Fer LR &#8211; Photom\u00e9trique fonctionne selon la m\u00e9thode \u00e9prouv\u00e9e de la ferrozine. La ferrozine forme avec les ions ferreux un complexe de couleur violet intense dont l&rsquo;intensit\u00e9 est proportionnelle \u00e0 la concentration en fer. En ajoutant deux r\u00e9actifs \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon d&rsquo;eau, le fer ferrique pr\u00e9sent est d&rsquo;abord r\u00e9duit en fer ferreux afin de mesurer la concentration totale en fer.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s un temps de r\u00e9action de 4 minutes, l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation se fait par photom\u00e9trie avec le photom\u00e8tre WINLAB Data Line. Cette m\u00e9thode photom\u00e9trique permet une mesure particuli\u00e8rement pr\u00e9cise et objective de la concentration en fer.
