Welcome to RLS Wacon analytics GmbH – a family business from Hildesheim with over 40 years of experience in robust measurement, sensor and analysis technology. Our roots go back to the early days of electronics development; over the decades, two independent areas of expertise have grown from this, which we bring together today under the RLS Wacon umbrella. What sets us apart is end-to-end value creation at a single site in Germany: from development and electronics to manufacturing and final testing, everything is created under one roof.
Two divisions under one roof
Over the decades we have built up two independent areas of expertise, which we cover entirely in-house – from the first idea to the tested series product.
Water analysis
In water analysis, we develop and manufacture online analysers and test sets for the continuous, automated monitoring of water parameters such as total hardness, carbonate hardness, p-value, iron and silicate – for the industrial treatment of drinking, raw, boiler and cooling water. Many devices are TÜV-approved for unattended continuous operation (VdTÜV code of practice WAUE), for example in steam boiler operation. This division includes the brands and device families CALDUR, SYCON and LIMES, as well as our own chemical products such as indicators and test kits – increasingly from our own production since we acquired the CALDUR brand in 2019. Since 2013, our focus at the site has been on safe, reliable water analysis devices.
Escalator & sensor technology
For escalators and moving walks, we supply safety-relevant sensor and lighting technology for continuous operation: light curtains for a safe entry and exit zone, LED lighting (comb, skirting and step-gap lighting), direction indicators as well as radar sensors and rotational speed monitoring – compliant with EN 115, for new installations and retrofitting. In addition, the division offers standalone sensor solutions such as the precipitation sensor, which reliably detects moisture and can therefore be used beyond escalator applications.
Manufacturing in Hildesheim – Made in Germany
Our particular strength is a high level of in-house production. CNC machining of the housings, PCB assembly, testing and even chemical production all take place exclusively at our site in Hildesheim. As a company certified to DIN EN ISO 9001, we test every device to strict quality standards before delivery, so that our customers receive accurate and reliable results. Because we keep all the essential steps in our own hands, we ensure quality, delivery reliability and continuous further development – consistently made in Germany. We supply our customers across Europe and worldwide.

3D design, rapid prototyping, CNC machining and housing development.
Laboratory analysis, formulation development, chemical production and contract filling.

As part of the German water sector, we have been active in the German Water Partnership since 2016, contributing to the working groups Water 4.0 and Innovation. We are also a member of the VDMA, the largest network association of the mechanical and plant engineering industry in Germany and Europe. This involvement keeps us in close exchange with users, research and standardisation – and feeds directly into the further development of our products.
