Why do you need a conductivity calibration solution?
The measuring cell of a conductivity meter is subject to ageing and contamination, which can cause the displayed values to deviate. To ensure accurate readings, the device is calibrated regularly against a solution with an exactly known conductivity – here 1412 µS/cm.
How do you calibrate with it?
The measuring cell is immersed in the standard solution and the reading on the device is adjusted to 1412 µS/cm. This solution covers the medium conductivity range (e.g. drinking and process water).

Ready for immediate use – no preparation or dilution required
- Rinse the measuring cell/electrode with distilled water and dab it dry carefully
- Pour a small amount of standard solution into a clean container (do not measure directly in the storage bottle)
- Immerse the measuring cell in the 1412 µS/cm solution and allow the reading to stabilise
- Calibrate the meter to the setpoint of 1412 µS/cm
- Rinse the measuring cell after calibration
Tip for best results
Conductivity is temperature-dependent – use the solution at room temperature if possible (approx. 25 °C). Discard the portion taken after use, do not pour it back into the storage bottle.
Important notes
- Reseal the bottle immediately after use
- Observe the best-before date – use up opened solutions promptly
- Store in a cool, dry place away from light
