Radar sensor RMS-B

The RMS-B radar sensor with adjustable sensitivity serves as a motion detector for approaching objects. The detection range lies between approx. 0.5 m and 5.0 m. The main detection range is inclined by 25° relative to the sensor surface. The sensitivity can be adjusted by means of a potentiometer in a supplied terminal box (RMS-KK).

Use on escalators and moving walks

Radar sensors from RLS Wacon detect approaching passengers on escalators and moving walks and act as direction-dependent motion detectors for the automatic activation (return to readiness) of the unit. The escalator starts as passengers approach and switches to stand-by during traffic pauses – saving energy and reducing wear. Compared with pyroelectric detectors, radar technology works in a direction-dependent manner and is less sensitive to environmental influences.
