Copper (Cu) is an essential trace element, but can be harmful to health in high concentrations. The limit value for drinking water is 2 mg/l (Drinking Water Ordinance). Copper mainly enters drinking water through copper pipes, especially in soft, acidic water with a low pH value.
The photometric determination offers higher precision than the colorimetric method and is ideal for laboratory applications and professional water analysis.
The CALDUR® Copper Test Set – Photometric works according to the cuprizone method. The reagents are specially adapted to the WINLAB Data Line photometer. After adding the reagents and a reaction time of 5 minutes, the measured value is precisely determined photometrically.
