Molybdaen (Mo) is used in water treatment as a corrosion inhibitor, especially in closed cooling circuits and heating systems. The correct dosage is crucial for effective corrosion protection while at the same time avoiding overdosing.
Depending on the type of system, typical target values are between 5 and 50 mg/l Mo. Photometric measurement enables precise monitoring of the dosage.
The CALDUR® Molybdaen test set is based on the thioglycolic acid method. The reagent forms a color complex with molybdaene, the concentration of which is precisely determined with the WINLAB Data Line photometer.
