Special storage solution that keeps pH electrodes moist and ready to measure between measurements and extends their service life.
Why do you need a storage solution?
The glass membrane and reference system of a pH electrode must remain permanently moist. If the electrode dries out or is stored in distilled/deionised water, it loses responsiveness and can be permanently damaged. The storage solution keeps the electrode in optimal condition.
How is it used?
The soaker cap or storage container of the electrode is filled with the solution; the electrode is stored in it. Simply rinse briefly before the next measurement.

Ready for immediate use – no preparation required
- Fill the soaker cap or storage container of the electrode with storage solution
- Store the pH electrode in the solution (membrane and junction must be wetted)
- Before the next measurement, rinse the electrode briefly with distilled water
- Check the fill level regularly and top up if necessary
Tip for best results
Never store electrodes dry and never in distilled or deionised water – both damage the electrode. Always use the storage solution.
Important notes
- Reseal the bottle immediately after use
- Observe the best-before date
- Store in a cool, dry place away from light
