What is the pHep® 5 suitable for?
The pHep® 5 from Hanna Instruments measures the pH value quickly and reliably, on site and in the laboratory. Thanks to its waterproof, floating housing, it is ideal for mobile use at pools, ponds and in water treatment. pH value and temperature appear simultaneously on the display.

Performing the measurement
- Remove the protective cap and briefly rinse the electrode with distilled water
- Switch on the device and calibrate with standard buffers if necessary
- Immerse the electrode in the sample until the temperature sensor is covered
- Allow the reading to stabilise – pH value and temperature are displayed simultaneously
- After measuring, rinse the electrode and store it moist in storage solution
Tip for best results
Calibrate with fresh buffer solutions before important measurement series. For maximum accuracy, measure the sample at a controlled temperature if possible (close to 20–25 °C).
Important notes
- Never store the electrode dry – always use storage solution
- The electrode is a wear part and must be replaced when its response deteriorates
- Keep the device dry and clean
