Precise water analysis – directly on site

The WINLAB Data Line photometer is a powerful, portable fourth-generation LED photometer developed specifically for water analysis in the field and in the laboratory. It is the ideal complement to the photometric CALDUR® test sets and enables an objective, digital evaluation of water samples – without subjective colour comparisons.

With nine LED wavelengths (380, 430, 470, 500, 520, 560, 610, 700 and 810 nm), the photometer covers a wide spectral range and is therefore suitable for a large number of water parameters.

Which parameters can be measured?

In combination with the CALDUR® test sets, you can determine the following parameters photometrically, among others:

  • Disinfection & oxidation: chlorine (free), chlorine LR/HR (free + combined), chlorine dioxide, peroxide
  • Metals: aluminium, iron (LR, LRS, HRS), chromium, copper, manganese, molybdenum
  • Nutrients: ammonium, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate (LR/HR), silicate
  • Organic substances: DEHA (diethylhydroxylamine), ascorbic acid, MEKO
  • Others: chloride HR, sulfide, sulfite

In total, over 100 pre-programmed measuring methods are available – in addition to CALDUR®, also for reagents from other manufacturers.

What makes the WINLAB Data Line special?

  • Automatic concentration determination with pre-programmed calibration curves

No manual reading from a colour chart – the photometer calculates the value digitally and reliably

  • Large, backlit graphic display (128 × 64 pixels) with mineral glass cover

Readings are clearly legible even in difficult lighting conditions – scratch-resistant and robust

  • Memory for up to 150 calibration curves and 1,000 measurement records

Extensive documentation directly on the device – ideal for logging and quality assurance

  • Reagent instructions readable directly from the display

No searching through paper manuals – step-by-step instructions always at hand

  • Waterproof housing with protected cuvette compartment

Designed for use directly at water treatment plants, wells or outdoors

  • Wireless IrDA interface and USB port with documentation software

Easily evaluate, archive and process measurement data on a PC

  • Battery operation with charger – ready for use immediately

Independent of the mains – ideal for mobile use and field measurements

Application

Basic operation

  1. Switch on the photometer and select the desired measuring method from the method memory
  2. Carry out the zero adjustment: insert a cuvette with untreated water sample and confirm the zero value
  3. Add reagents to the sample according to the instructions of the respective CALDUR® test set
  4. After the specified reaction time, insert the cuvette with the treated sample
  5. Read off the value – the concentration is calculated automatically and displayed in mg/l

The working instructions for each test set can be called up directly on the photometer display. Measurement results are automatically logged in the data memory and can be transferred to a PC via the IrDA interface or USB.

Application areas

  • Drinking water monitoring

Checking limit values according to the Drinking Water Ordinance – e.g. chlorine, iron, manganese, aluminium, nitrate, nitrite

  • Water treatment and swimming pool technology

Monitoring of disinfectants (chlorine, chlorine dioxide, peroxide) and corrosion inhibitors (phosphate, silicate, DEHA, MEKO)

  • Boiler feed water and cooling water

Control of hardness stabilisers, oxygen scavengers (sulfite, ascorbic acid) and corrosion protection

  • Wastewater and process water

Determination of heavy metals (chromium, copper, manganese) and nutrients (ammonium, nitrate, phosphate)

  • Food and beverage industry

Quality control of process water and cleaning solutions

Measurable parameters with CALDUR® test sets

The following overview shows all parameters that can be determined with the WINLAB Data Line photometer in combination with the photometric CALDUR® test sets:

Parameter Measuring range
Aluminium 0,02 – 0,3 mg/l
Ammonium 0,1 – 3,0 mg/l
Ascorbic acid 0,1 – 10 mg/l
Chlorine (free) 0,05 – 1,0 mg/l
Chlorine LR (free + combined) 0,05 – 1,0 mg/l
Chlorine HR (free + combined) 1 – 10 mg/l
Chlorine dioxide 0,05 – 0,5 mg/l
Chloride HR 0,2 – 300 mg/l
Chromium 0,02 – 0,7 mg/l
DEHA (diethylhydroxylamine) 0,05 – 3 mg/l
Iron LR 0,01 – 0,5 mg/l
Iron LRS 0,01 – 0,5 mg/l
Iron HRS 0,2 – 10 mg/l
Copper 0,05 – 2,0 mg/l
Manganese 0,05 – 20 mg/l
MEKO 0,5 – 10 mg/l
Molybdenum 2,5 – 100 mg/l
