DEHA (diethylhydroxylamine, C₄H₁₁NO) is a widely used oxygen binding agent in steam boiler systems. It protects against corrosion caused by dissolved oxygen. The correct dosage is crucial for the protection of the system and the efficiency of operation.
Underdosing leads to insufficient corrosion protection, while overdosing causes unnecessary costs. The photometric determination enables a particularly precise measurement in the range up to 3 mg/l.
The CALDUR® DEHA test set is based on the Ferrozine method. DEHA reduces iron(III) to iron(II), which forms a violet complex with ferrozine. The color intensity is determined photometrically with the WINLAB Data Line Photometer.
