Manganese (Mn) occurs naturally in groundwater and at high concentrations can lead to black deposits in pipes, discoloration and an unpleasant taste. The limit value for drinking water is 0.05 mg/l Mn (Drinking Water Ordinance).
In water treatment, manganese must be reliably monitored as it can pollute the filter systems. Photometric measurement enables precise determination over a wide concentration range.
The CALDUR® Manganese test set is based on the formaldoxime method. After adding three reagents to the water sample, an orange-red coloration develops within 10 minutes, the intensity of which is precisely determined with the WINLAB Data Line photometer.
