The RGB6031 bi-color traffic light is a red/green switchable bi-color signal light for escalators and moving walks – optionally with function monitoring. It is designed for installation in balustrades.
Use at escalators and moving walks
Depending on the operating direction, the display lights up green (cleared) or red (blocked). The bright, homogeneous LED illumination remains clearly visible even in ambient light; robust LED technology ensures long, low-maintenance operation.

Optional: function monitoring
On request, this product is available with function monitoring: the device continuously checks its own function and automatically reports a failure – such as a defective LED – via a separate output to a remote diagnostics system or the control room. Faults are detected immediately without an on-site check – this increases the availability of the unit and reduces maintenance effort.

Field of use
The bi-color traffic light is mounted on the access side of escalators and moving walks. As a single light, it switches between red (unit blocked) and green (unit cleared), replacing two separate signal lights.
Operating principle
The display uses backlit LEDs and offers high optical contrast with homogeneous illumination and low power consumption. Nothing is visible on the display when de-energised. The colour is switched between red and green via the control signal. Optionally, the traffic light is available with function monitoring for connection to a remote diagnostics system.
Installation
- Insert the traffic light into the cut-out provided in the balustrade.
- Connect the operating voltage (see Technical data).
- For versions with function monitoring, connect the monitoring output to the remote diagnostics system.
Maintenance & cleaning
- Regularly inspect the front lens and display visually.
- Clean the front lens with a soft cloth if dirty – the front lens is replaceable.
- For versions with function monitoring: check fault messages in the remote diagnostics system.
Important notes
- Nothing is visible on the display when de-energised.
- Order fastening material separately (traffic light fastening set).
- Install only when de-energised.
