The automatic restart system (WBS) consists of transmitter and receiver modules. The signals are controlled and evaluated by the central unit, which is connected to the transmitter and receiver chains via adapter cables. One central unit of the automatic restart system supports up to 99 modules per escalator side. On longer moving walks, two light curtains (WBS) are used accordingly.

The light curtain is part of the automatic restart system (WBS) for escalators and moving walks: transmitter and receiver modules monitor the presence of persons on the unit in accordance with EN 115 and automatically release the escalator again after an emergency stop. The signals are evaluated by the central unit. The D-Version is designed for escalators from Otis and Kone, the E-Version for ThyssenKrupp and Schindler.
