Why a pressure regulator with filter and gauge?
Online analysers are precise measuring instruments – and correspondingly sensitive to the conditions in the sample water. An inlet pressure that is too high or fluctuating, as well as foreign matter in the water sample, can stress the measuring cell, lead to distorted readings and, in the worst case, cause a device failure.
This is exactly where the upstream pressure regulator comes in: it reduces the inlet pressure of the water sample to a safe, constant level and holds back foreign matter before it reaches the measuring chamber. This protects your analyser from pressure surges and contamination, ensures stable measuring conditions and extends the device’s service life.
What is the pressure regulator with gauge?
The pressure regulator with mounting bracket and filter incl. gauge is designed for the SYCON series and is installed upstream of the analyser. It combines three functions in one component: a pressure reducer with a control range of 0 to 4 bar, an integrated filter against foreign matter and a gauge for direct monitoring of the set pressure. The hose connection has an outer diameter of 6 mm; the supplied mounting bracket allows clean, fixed installation.
How does it work?
The pressure regulator is installed between the water tapping point and the analyser. It lowers the incoming pressure of the water sample to the desired value, which can be read at any time on the integrated gauge. The upstream filter holds back particles and foreign matter so that only clean sample water reaches the measuring cell.
The measuring chamber of the SYCON devices is designed for a pressure of up to 5 bar. For safe, gentle operation we recommend reducing the inlet pressure to 2 bar.

Application
The pressure regulator is installed upstream of the analyser in the water sample line and reduces its inlet pressure to a constant, device-appropriate level. It is suitable for the online analysers of the SYCON series and is useful wherever the incoming line pressure is too high or fluctuating, or where foreign matter in the sample water is to be expected.
Setting and monitoring the pressure
The set pressure can be read at any time on the integrated gauge and readjusted if needed. This keeps the measuring conditions stable throughout the entire operating time – the basis for reproducible, reliable readings.
💡 Recommendation for the pressure setting
The measuring chamber of the SYCON devices is designed for a pressure of up to 5 bar. For gentle continuous operation we recommend reducing the inlet pressure at the regulator to 2 bar.
