Why is regular maintenance important?
The LIMES works fully automatically and reliably – provided that the wearing parts are replaced at regular intervals. The peristaltic pump cassette is the central metering element: it delivers the indicator precisely into the measuring chamber and thus significantly determines the measuring accuracy. Worn pump tubes lead to inaccurate metering quantities and thus to falsified measurement results.
Likewise, seals (O-rings), suction lance, injector and stirrer blade are subject to natural wear due to constant contact with water and indicator solution. Timely replacement of these components prevents leaks, metering errors and unplanned equipment failures.
Maintenance instructions
The following notes apply to the replacement of the wearing parts as part of regular maintenance. Detailed, device-specific instructions can be found in the LIMES operating manual.
Safety instructions
- Reagents, indicators and cleaning fluids may contain hazardous chemical components. Before starting work, observe the relevant safety data sheets (SDS).
- Always wear safety glasses and gloves during maintenance.
- Avoid skin contact with reagents and cleaning agents. In case of contact, rinse immediately with water.
- Carry out maintenance work only when the device is switched off and depressurised.
