What is the sample cooler used for?
The PC 200 sample cooler reliably cools down hot water samples – for example from boiler, boiler feed water or condensate lines – before they reach the online analysis. This brings the sample to a safe temperature before it enters the analyser, protecting the sensitive measuring equipment and ensuring reproducible measurement results. The hot sample water passes through a cooling coil that is surrounded by cooling water in counterflow.

Application
The PC 200 is installed in the sampling line; a cold water line is connected to the separate cooling water inlet and outlet. The hot sample water flows through the cooling coil and releases its heat to the cooling water in counterflow. Downstream of the sample cooler, the cooled sample water can be fed directly to an online analyser of the SYCON series and continuously monitored for quality.
Installation
- Mount the cooler on the wall in an enclosed room (2 fastening points, spacing 58 mm)
- Integrate sample water inlet and outlet into the sampling line (8 mm pipe)
- Connect the cooling water line to the cooling water inlet and outlet (8 mm pipe)
- Open the cooling water flow and check all connections for leaks
💡 Note on operation
For effective cooling, sufficient cooling water at the lowest possible temperature should be available in counterflow. The permissible pressures (sample water max. 16 bar, cooling water max. 8 bar) must not be exceeded.
