Radar sensor RMS-A

The RMS-A radar sensor serves as a motion detector for approaching objects. The detection range lies between approx. 0.5 m and 5.0 m. The range is set at the factory to the customer’s requirements and varies depending on the size, shape and speed of the moving objects.

Use on escalators and moving walks

Radar sensors from RLS Wacon detect approaching passengers on escalators and moving walks and act as direction-dependent motion detectors for the automatic activation (return to readiness) of the unit. The escalator starts as passengers approach and switches to stand-by during traffic pauses – saving energy and reducing wear. Compared with pyroelectric detectors, radar technology works in a direction-dependent manner and is less sensitive to environmental influences.
